William H. Baumgartl, M.D., MSME

William H. Baumgartl, M.D., MSME, has over 33 years of experience in the medical field. He is triple board-certified in the specialties of anesthesiology and pain medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology and addiction medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He holds active medical licenses in California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. Currently, Dr. Baumgartl serves as the Director of Regenerative Medicine at Sage Pain and Wellness Institute in San Diego. He also leads the center’s second opinion/consult program for advanced pain diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Hurschman is a pain specialist with Physical Medicine & Rehab. He has more than 30 years experience with pain management. 


Insun Lee, MD

Dr. Lee is a pain management specialist with more than 10 years experience in the medical field. She is UCLA fellowship trained in spine interventions and is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Prior to moving to Southern California, she completed her medical school education and residency training at Columbia University in New York City.

Elizabeth Donohue, Nurse Practitioner

Liz Donoghue is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who received her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her master’s degree in nursing from Simmons University in Boston. Her professional background includes post-acute rehabilitation, general medicine, and orthopedic surgery. Through her nursing experiences she discovered her passion for helping patients who struggle with pain as well as her interest in musculoskeletal disorders.

Physician Assistant

Russel is a board-certified physician assistant who graduated from University of Utah School of Medicine in 2019. Prior to PA school, he served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 6 years. 


He speaks English, Kapampangan and Tagalog.

Physician Assistant

Mani is a board-certified Physician Assistant, graduated from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland in 2016. He worked in primary care field after graduated and he found pain management is most
interesting for him to help other people who suffering from pain.


He has been working in medical field for about 20 years. His passion in life is helping and being able to make patients feel better. He is always open to new
challenge and self-improvement.


He has eager to stay ahead in our dynamic health care system and ever-changing medical advances.


He is bilingual in English and Farsi.
